I Don’t Think I Can Do It: Lies You Tell Yourself About Body Confidence
Hey, it's Victoria here from Fierce Fatty. And in this video we're talking about a massive lie that you are telling yourself, which is, I can't do it.
Before we start this video, check out the confidence booster book that I have below that goes along with this video. It's incredible. It's filled with things that are gonna make you feel great, like quotes, inspiration exercises to make you realize what a massive bad ass you already are. So go check that out. Make sure that you like this video, subscribe to my youtube channel and hit the notification button so you know when the next video is going to be out. And guess what? Another thing you can do, why not share this? There might be people who are gonna benefit from this message.
Okay, so people say to me very often, "Victoria, I would love to be confident. I love to accept my fat body, but I just don't think that I can do it. I failed before and I think this is going to be another thing that I failed at".
This is a common belief that people hoped. And so I want to break it down for you so that you know what total bullshit it is. And by the way, it's absolutely 1000% normal to believe that you can't do it. So don't feel bad if you were in that spot, but let's turn it around. Okay?
So the belief I don't think I can do it is exactly that a belief and a belief is not a fact. A fact is something that is 100% true 100% of the time. Look at the evidence. How have you ever in your life achieved anything? Um, yeah, yeah. Every single fucking day you wake up, you put on clothes, maybe you don't, you brush your teeth. Maybe you don't. Maybe you go to work. Maybe you text a friend, maybe you ride your bike, maybe you go to school. Maybe you have achievements that you've done at work. Maybe all of these things, right? You've done so many things already. But when you believe I can't do it, do you know what you're doing? You're looking at the times where you didn't succeed and you're like, ah, that is the evidence to prove that I can't do it. Okay?
Just because you failed at some things before doesn't mean you're afraid at them. In fact, failure is so fucking important. You know what? Failure shows. It shows that you tried and I think failure is incredible because I'd rather be a failure than someone who's never even tried something, right? So if you have failed and you're putting ideas and beliefs on that failure of like, I was so this and that and I'm this and whatever, are we willing to let go of that, it doesn't mean that you're a bad person if you have failed before, I want you to forgive yourself.
If you did make any mistakes after all, guess what? You're a human being and human beings make mistakes and look the ratio of the successes you've had in your life versus failures. I bet you the failures are a small portion and the successes are actually a massive portion of your life because you're living your life.
You're doing things on a day to day basis, which you didn't know how to do when you were born, right? You didn't know how to tie your shoelaces. You didn't know how to go to work, you didn't know how to make friends. You have to learn all this stuff so you're already so fucking successful. Another thing that people think is when they thinking about, I want to do something, and so in this example, I want to love my fat body. They think about the whole thing and how big it is and how many years of unlearning may have to do, and it is big.
It's like saying to someone who's never done anything, any mountaineering, hey, go climb mount Everest. And they'll be like, I don't think I can do it. Rightly so, but if they just said, if you just said to someone, hey, go to your local store and buy a backpack, that's the first step. Or You should use buy a backpack. Then you buy some more clothes and then you'll learn how to get to the first base camp and then you do, there's blah, blah, blah before, you know, you've climbed Mount Everest and so I want you to think about the very first step that you need to take. And the very first step is probably something really simple like googling something or watching a video, buying a book, investing in an Ecourse, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Right? Break it down to the tiniest little thing that you can think of that you know that you can achieve.
Like can you Google something? Have you ever googled something before? Yeah. Right. So you can Google something again, like how to love my fat body or whatever it is. Right? And then what is the next step after that? Don't think about the whole picture because anyone would get overwhelmed with that. Another thing is people look at my version of confidence and they say, I don't think that I can do that. You don't have to. You don't have to be perhaps in around in your bikini and dancing like a Twat for the world to see. That's my version of confidence. I know people who are super confident and they don't wear a bikini. It's not that thing, right? And so you can be really confident in your own way. So you don't have to be speaking in public. You don't have to be taking over the world or whatever it is that you think is not for you.
You do you right. And so that's what confidence is, is being able to be confident enough to do you exactly whatever you is. Okay? So you don't have to wear a bikini adults like a twat unless you want to then go wild join me. So if you want to get rid of this belief that you can't do it, then check out the workbook below the confidence booster book. It's going to have loads of feel good stuff in it and stuff that's going to make you realize that you can do it and quotes and piles of activity. It can be amazing. So check it out and kick that untrue belief that you can't do it to the curb once and for all. You can do it. You can do it, and we can all do it. It's gonna be amazing. Big fatty high fives to you. Don't worry about it. It's gonna be good.
